The course …
Located near Bordeaux and in an exceptional landscape is the Château Pape Clément, one of the oldest Bordeaux Grands Crus. The vineyard was established in the thirteenth century by Bertrand de Goth, who became Pope in 1305 under the name of Clement V. Its first harvest took place in 1252.
To explore this château and its exceptional grand vin, we will first pass by some unmissable Bordeaux gems such as the Porte Cailhau, the Cathédrale St André and the Palais Rohan. We will then move out of the hustle and bustle of the city onto peaceful bike trails and then into the first vineyards located just a few kilometres from the city centre.
We will be greeted by the vineyards of the Château, its magnificent age-old park and its ancient olive trees. We will then begin the visit during which the majestic history of the Château Pape Clément will be told. We will conclude the visit with a wine-tasting, making the most of the opportunity to discover a few bottles of this exceptional wine that is among the list of Grands Crus Classés de Graves of 1953.
The tour includes the rental of Beach Cruiser model bikes equipped with baskets, the helmet, a stainless steel water bottle, a poncho in case of risk of downpour and the presence of a guide.
Fantastic wine tour! We spent a beautiful afternoon thanks to Jean Christophe while cycling together to the Château Pape Clement. It was a nice ride, and above all an original way to go and see a Grand Cru Classe located at the gates of the city!
We had booked this tour for a bachelor party this weekend and honestly everyone was delighted! Great weather, beautiful and comfortable bikes, and Jean-Christophe was just perfect. The route to the château offers different scenery and you never find yourself in the middle of traffic, it was very pleasant and safe. The castle is beautiful and the visit is very interesting. And especially a big thank you to Jean-Christophe for the surprise back in Bordeaux, we did not expect it at all. We will come back to visit Bordeaux's city center with you ;)
