Visit Bordeaux by Bike

The course :

Join us in the heart of the historic center of Bordeaux at the charming Place Raymond Colom, the ideal meeting point to start this magnificent bike ride.

On the agenda: Discovering Bordeaux together in a convivial atmosphere, lots of smiles and well-being.

Once equiped, ready for the adventure ahead, we will make our way towards the oldest door of Bordeaux, the Grosse Cloche (also known as the “Big Bell”) dating from the 13th century. Then we shall cross the Saint-Michel district, famous for its local market before quickly reaching the magnificent Pont de Pierre bridge to cross the Garonne river. This trajectory offers us a unique view of the “Port of the Moon” and its majestic facade dating from the 18th century. This will be the perfect moment to share with you the history of Bordeaux over the centuries.

We will stroll along the Parc des Angéliques (“Angelic Park”) and across the Garonne river via the impressive Jacques Chaban-Delmas Bridge to explore some of the city’s most important sites. We will discover the Chartrons district, the historical heart of the wine trade in Bordeaux, which is famous for its wine cellars.

We will resume our stroll along the charming Notre Dame Street. We’ll head for the beautiful Jardin Public (“Public Gardens”) and then the historic center, passing by the Quinconces esplanade and its monument dedicated to the Girondins, the Triangle d’or (“The Golden Triangle”), City Hall and the Saint-André Cathedral. Then we will go through the cobbled streets, pretty plazas (always animated thanks to their cafés!), and finally we will pass in front of the world famous Miroir D’eau (“Water Mirror”) before going to admire the second oldest city gate of Bordeaux and returning to our starting point.

The itinerary may vary according to the weather, possible city events.

Best tour in Bordeaux Jean-Christophe is the nicest man and the best tour guide. He is extremely knowledgeable and friendly and tells a wonderful story of the history of Bordeaux. The bikes were comfortable and easy to use and covered a lot of ground with ease, the water, ponchos and little treat provided were a very thoughtful touch. We highly recommend these tours, thank you Jean-Christophe!

Awesome Bike Tour with JC! Jean-Christophe was the absolute best. My wife and I wanted to do a bike tour when we arrived in Bordeaux, and we found this company online. I was in a rush to get us something booked, and accidently booked for a French tour as opposed to one in English. When we arrived, he was kind enough to do the tour in both French and English for us and the other couple who had signed up for the day. We had an awesome time, and saw a lot of sites that we otherwise would have missed without his experience and wherewithal. Plus, he is just a really awesome person and gave us recs on restaurants, bars, and more. If you can ride a bike, and you like to sight see, do this tour. You will not regret it.

A perfect tour! We loved it! I am so glad we booked this tour of Bordeaux! Jean-Christophe is a very knowledgeable and caring guide with great English. He showed us around and told us the history of the city and of various monuments. Our bikes were extremely comfortable and were easy to ride. Each bike has a front basket with a water bottle and a rain jacket. The seats are very cushiony and comfortable. The ride was very easy since the streets of Bordeaux are mostly flat and many of them have a special lane just foe bikes. We had a lot of fun on this tour and would recommend it to everyone!

Very enjoyable bike tour! Jean-Christophe is a very laidback tour guide with a lot of knowledge of the history of Bordeaux. As a family, we each enjoyed site-seeing Bordeaux by bike very much. And we are already planning a wine tour by bike with him as soon as possible when the restrictions are no longer there after the lockdown.

We had the bicycle tour on the hottest day ever. We started early and we were the only two who joined. Jean-Christophe was born and raised in Bordeaux so knows ALL about this town. He prepared it all very well. He even had bottles with cold water for us. And a nice sweet treat during a well-deserved stop. His English is perfect, so we could understand all the explanations about the city. He brought old photos, so we could really see the drastic chances Bordeaux went through. And all for the best, because it's such a lovely city, with a 'town feeling' to it. We were pleasantly surprised! We truly enjoyed this bicycle tour! Thanks again, Jean-Christophe! Also for taking pictures of us while we were cycling. ( and we still have your picture too ;-) )

Jean Christophe was a fabulous guide. We had a wonderful morning in a spectacular city. "We will be back" we kept saying every 10 minutes after another corner was turned providing yet another gorgeous building, view, encounter… The bikes are super comfortable and Jean-Christophes knowledge and obvious passion for the city was superb! WE WILL BE BACK!!!!

Super visit with historic insights! We loved Jean Christophe's tour. His explanations of the town's history were much better than for the average tour, the tour was beautiful and Pleasant. The canelet dessert was perfect. A fantastic bike tour of Bordeaux overall.

Jean-Christophe took my husband, myself and our two children aged 10 and 11 years on a fabulous tour this morning. He is very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the history of Bordeaux. The city is flat, very easy and bike friendly. It was safe and our children loved the freedom of riding rather than walking. The bikes are new and very comfortable, Jean-Christophe even took the time to send through a bunch of photos he had taken of us! The perfect way to visit Bordeaux with the best guide! Thanks JC.

We've just finished a wonderful afternoon tour with Jean-Christophe. We met in the heart of Bordeaux, a small group, 4 of us and 2 others. Brilliant new bikes, water and snacks supplied. A marvellous tour with history and many points of interest. Jean-Christophe is a passionate local, he gave us a tour for 2.5 hours. I can not speak highly enough of the tour, we often take a bike tour in cities we visit. This was the best!
