Best of Bordeaux Walking Tour with a Local

Join us for a delightful walking tour of Bordeaux with a local guide, starting on the charming Place Raymond Colom, nestled in one of the city’s historic districts.

From there, we’ll wander through picturesque cobbled streets toward the iconic Grosse Cloche, the oldest gate in Bordeaux, dating back to the 13th century. The tour unfolds at a relaxed and enjoyable pace, giving you time to soak in the atmosphere while discovering the fascinating history of the city.

Along the way, you’ll pass through lively squares filled with cafés and terraces, before reaching Porte Cailhau, a beautiful 15th-century gate. We’ll then stroll along the riverfront to admire the elegant Place de la Bourse and its stunning water mirror.

Our journey continues to Place de la Comédie, home to the magnificent Grand Théâtre, an architectural jewel of the 18th century. Next, we’ll head to Place des Quinconces to see the impressive Girondins Monument, before crossing the prestigious Golden Triangle district.

The tour ends at the City Hall, where you’ll discover the majestic Saint-André Cathedral.

Throughout the experience, you’ll enjoy the company of a passionate local guide who will share stories, anecdotes, and insights into Bordeaux’s evolution, from its wine trade golden age to its architectural splendor. You’ll even step back in time with the help of historical photos, bringing the city’s transformation to life.

To make the experience even more enjoyable, a small local treat (a traditional canelé) is included during the tour.

A perfect way to explore Bordeaux, understand its rich heritage, and experience the city like a true local, now proudly listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Great way to see and understand Bordeaux! Personalised service from Jean Christophe adapting the tour for what we hadn't already seen and taking us to we quite a few places we would never have discovered. Inclement weather meant that the Jean Christophe rearranged for us to go at a better time and gave us lots of useful hints about where to go. Great experience - highly recommend.
